Fun Tour Episode 2: Hurricane Ridge

In this second episode of my personal spring tours, I got to check out Hurricane Ridge for the first time!

Since it was our first time there, Kirah and I originally intended to ski Hurricane Hill, a three-mile ridge-top approach. About 2 miles into it, we said “Sod this game,” and instead took a 2200’ ski descent into the valley below, then climbed up the other side to Alpine Hill - which overlooks the rope tows that operate on Saturday & Sunday.

Not a monstrously long tour (only 5 hours), but it gave us a good lay of the land. If I were to “Groundhog Day” it over, I would just park in the lot or the last pullout and do laps up and over Alpine and Sunset Ridges, 800-1000’ at a time.

Just a short clip of the pinwheeling happening while we climbed up to Alpine Hill. I thought it might be useful in future avalanche courses, and this is me learning how to embed videos in my posts!
