Summer Haute Route - Atiz DEPOSIT
Dates: 19 July - 2 August 2026 (10 days, 14 nights)
Total number of guests: Liz Atiz + 2 to be determined.
Rate: $700 USD / day + guide’s lodging, meals, and transport during 22-31 July. Additional $700 for trip planning, making hotel and hut reservations.
If a fourth person joins after the deposit, an additional $200/day will be charged and added to the remainder.
Proposed Itinerary with minimum distances and elevation given - tour length and challenge can change due to weather, ski conditions, and guests’ preferences:
19-22 July: Lodging in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Haute Savoy, France.
Day 1, 22 July: Hike from Chamonix to Le Tour via the Bevent or Flegere lifts to gain elevation, crossing under the Aiguille Rouge. Minimum travel 5.7 miles, +1580ft / -2950ft.
Day 2, 23 July: Hike to Cabane Trient via the Le Tour lifts, crossing the Glacier Tour, Col Superior Tour, and Glacier Trient. Minimum travel 6.2 miles, +4140ft / -950ft.
Day 3, 24 July: Hike to a hotel in Le Chable, via train from Orsiers to Le Chable. Travel alongside the Glacier Orny. Minimum travel 6.9 miles, +80ft / -7410ft.
Day 4, 25 July: Hike to Cabane Chanrion, via bus from Le Chable to Mauvosin. Travel alongside the Lac Mauvosin with views of the Grand Combin. Minimum travel 6.4 miles, +2890ft / -840ft.
Day 5, 26 July: Hike to Cabane Dix. Crossing the Col Lire Rose, Col Mont Rouge, Glacier Gietroz, Col Cheillon, and Glacier Cheilon. Minimum travel 6.3 miles, +3440ft / -1920ft.
Day 6, 27 July: Hike to Cabane Vignettes. High point of the tour! Crossing the Glaciers Cheilon, Tsijiore Nouve, and Brenay to the summit of the Pigne d’Arolla (12400ft), before descending the Glacier Piece to Cabane Vignettes. Minimum travel 5 miles, +3260ft / -2540ft.
Day 7, 28 July: Hike to Cabane Bertol. Biggest day of the tour! Crossing Glaciers Otemma and Arolla to pass through the Col Eveques, before descending the Glacier Haute Arolla and then climbing back up to the Col Bertol. Minimum travel 8.6 miles (4.4 miles down hill), +3760ft / -3450ft.
Day 8, 29 July: Hike to Schonbielhutte. Cross the Glacier Mont Mine to the Col Tete Blanche, to descend the Stockligletscher and Schonbielgletscher to the hut. Minimum travel 6.7 miles, +2330ft / - 4170ft.
Day 9, 30 July: Hike to Zermatt. Travel alongside the Zmutgletscher. Minimum travel 6.8 miles, +120ft / -3550ft.
Day 10, 31 July: Via Ferrata above Zermatt. Via Ferrata lanyards and helmets provided.
30 July - 2 August: Lodging in Zermatt, Wallis, Switzerland.
